Diamondback ICE Release Paths

Diamondback belongs to the federal immigration detention system. Release from ICE custody is only one possible departure. ICE may transfer a detainee to another facility, move the person for a hearing or another process, carry out removal from the United States, or release the person with reporting or alternatives-to-detention requirements. Those results have different legal and practical meanings.

Location in Blaine County does not place Diamondback detainees on the sheriff's inmate roster. That roster covers the county jail. ODOC's offender search covers state correctional custody and supervision, not routine immigration detention at this facility. Search ICE's system first, then ask ICE or Diamondback to clarify an ambiguous result. If ICE confirms release, describe it as release from ICE custody. Do not imply that the immigration case ended, since detention status and immigration proceedings are separate questions.

Diamondback ICE Release Search

The ICE Online Detainee Locator System, or ODLS, is the first online check. It supports an A-number and country-of-birth search, or a biographical search using the fields permitted by the interface. An A-number has nine digits; leading zeros may be needed. ODLS does not search people under eighteen. Spelling, date, country, transfer timing, and processing delays can all affect a match.

1. Choose the A-number route when the identifier is known, and enter the country of birth.
2. Otherwise, enter the full name, date of birth, and country details accepted by ODLS.
3. Compare every displayed identifier before selecting a record. Do not rely on name alone.
4. Record the exact facility or status wording and the time of the check.
5. If no reliable match appears, call Diamondback and contact ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations for confirmation.

ICE materials describe locator coverage for current detainees and, in attorney resources, some people released within the last sixty days. A result may therefore age out. A missing result can also stem from a transfer, removal, mismatched fields, another agency's custody, or an update delay. Only the responsible agency can distinguish those causes.

Diamondback Release Contact

CoreCivic's current facility page is the controlling local source for Diamondback's address and main telephone number. Ask for the correct ICE or records liaison and explain that the question concerns a custody departure, transfer destination, or release confirmation. The operator may be limited in what it can disclose. ICE controls the immigration custody decision and remains the key confirmation source.

Use the CoreCivic Diamondback page to check current facility instructions before making contact. Federal records requests follow ICE's FOIA and Privacy Act channels. Privacy exemptions and identity-verification rules may limit what a third party receives. A person seeking their own record should follow the agency's identity requirements.

Diamondback ICE Detainer Handoffs

An ICE detainer can connect two custody events. A person may first leave Blaine County Jail when the local basis ends, then enter ICE custody and arrive at Diamondback. The county jail's manner-of-discharge entry documents the first handoff. ICE's record documents the federal immigration phase. One event cannot be substituted for the other.

When following such a handoff, request the county jail entry's date, manner of discharge, and receiving agency. Then search ODLS and contact ICE. The ICE explanation of immigration detainers supplies the federal context, but the person-specific records establish what happened in a particular case. If the sheriff entry says ICE pickup, describe the event as transfer from county custody into immigration custody, not release to the community.

A later departure from Diamondback also needs its own outcome. Transfer to a different ICE site, removal, and conditional release all end the person's stay at this building. Only the last is release from ICE detention into the community. Even then, check-in duties or other immigration conditions can continue.

Diamondback Reactivation Changes Searches

Old directories can be badly misleading here. Diamondback had been idle since 2010. CoreCivic announced a new ICE-related agreement beginning September 30, 2025 through an intergovernmental arrangement involving ODOC and ICE. The company later said detainees began arriving in December 2025. A guide written during the long idle period may correctly describe the past yet fail as a current custody source.

The current operator and federal locator should take priority over stale prison directories. CoreCivic's contract announcement documents the reactivation framework. Its first-quarter 2026 report says the site held 735 detainees on March 31, 2026. That date-specific figure shows the facility was active; it is not a current population counter.

Diamondback Detention Facility Facts

CoreCivic lists Diamondback at 1000 Diamondback Road in Watonga, with 2,160 beds and Fred Figueroa as warden. CoreCivic operates the site for ICE through the current arrangement. Neither the bed count nor a dated occupancy figure identifies any person's status. Those figures explain the scale and active role of the facility only.

Diamondback's name can also cause confusion because its history includes prior correctional uses. Its current function controls the lookup route. It should not be treated as a Blaine County jail, and the county sheriff does not make Diamondback release decisions. It also should not be presented as an operating ODOC state prison. ODOC's role in the intergovernmental arrangement does not convert each ICE detainee into an Oklahoma prisoner.

Diamondback ICE Release Records

A formal records route depends on the record creator. Ask Diamondback or ICE for the correct channel for a person-specific custody movement, but use federal FOIA or Privacy Act procedures when a written federal record is needed. State and county open-records rules do not turn an ICE custody file into a sheriff record. Scope the request to known identifiers, the facility, a bounded date range, and the precise event sought.

Useful items may include the ICE custody status, facility history, transfer entry, release date, or disposition that is lawfully available. An A-number is the best identifier when known. For a prior county-to-ICE handoff, obtain the Blaine County jail-register entry separately. A complete chronology can require both records because different agencies controlled each phase.

The public locator is not a certified historical record. Save the exact status wording and retrieval date, then seek agency confirmation if the distinction between transfer, release, and removal matters. ICE may withhold personal information from a third party under federal privacy rules. Do not treat that limit as proof of any custody result.

Avoid Wrong Diamondback Release Routes

The Blaine sheriff roster answers whether someone is shown in the county jail. It does not list Diamondback's ICE detainees. ODOC lookup answers state correctional custody and supervision questions. BOP's locator answers federal Bureau of Prisons custody questions. None replaces ICE ODLS for a person detained at Diamondback.

Federal criminal and immigration systems also differ. A BOP result marked released concerns departure from BOP custody. A USMS pretrial detainee may be held under contract without appearing as a convicted BOP prisoner. Diamondback status still requires the ICE route when immigration detention is involved. Begin with the agency that controls the person's latest known custody, then follow documented transfers in order.

The Blaine County Jail release page covers the distinct county process when the starting point was a local or municipal arrest. For Diamondback, keep the description narrow: released from ICE custody, transferred within ICE, or removed, as confirmed by the responsible source.
